Banjarmasin is known as a thousand rivers city, which also has a bunch of sanitary problems caused by its settlement on the riverside. These problems had caused environmental degradation for a long time ago, especially by the domestic waste of Banjarmasin riverside urbanism.

Banjar Floow derived by the building location in Banjarmasin, then Floow is an abbreviation of flow and loo. This building's concept is to facilitate floating market in Banjarmasin's river and become a belt to stop riverside urban expansion by becoming pedestrian ways for increasing social control along the river.
